Will a deposit reduce no-shows?

Almost always, yes. When customers have money on the line they show up. A small deposit is the single most effective no-show reducer for most trades.

What happens if payment fails?

The booking isn't confirmed until payment succeeds, so you never end up with an unpaid slot when you've asked for payment.

Turn payments off, take a deposit, or collect the full amount at booking — and when to use each.

You control whether — and how much — customers pay when they book. Set it under Settings → Payments.

Off — no online payment. Customers book and pay you in person. Simplest to start.
Deposit — a set amount up front (say, $15, or the equivalent in your currency). The rest is paid at the visit. Great for cutting no-shows without asking for everything.
Full — the entire price at booking. Best when the service is fixed-price and you want to be paid before the work.

A booking is only confirmed once payment succeeds — so if you ask for a deposit or full payment, you'll never hold a slot for an unpaid booking.

Just getting started / trust-based regulars → Off. Keep it frictionless.
No-shows are costing you → Deposit. Even a small one changes behavior.
Fixed-price services, pay-before-work → Full.

You can change modes any time, and the choice applies to new bookings going forward.
